Talent Development

At WMHCC Talent Development, we’re all about empowering the next generation of Latinx workforce. We’re here to help from the moment someone starts thinking about their career path, offering the support and tools needed to grow from those first steps right through to leadership roles. Our focus is on making sure you feel supported, capable, and ready to take on the world.

LEADeres

LEADeres is a 6-month professional development program designed to support Latinx professionals in their leadership journeys. Participants complete 5 workshops and a capstone project to grow in areas related to cultural intelligence, community engagement, and leadership development.

Applications open in June with final selection in August. The program runs October-March.

Futuro Leaderes

Current Latinx college students can take advantage of the Futuro Leaders Fellowship, which gives access to various career connections and development. This competitive Fellowship offers exceptional identity and asset-based professional development to Michigan Latinx college talent. This two-semester-long leadership experience will strengthen your power skills through hands-on experiences that enhance leadership, expand your network, and ultimately produce top Latinx professionals!

Community Events

Community Events aim to connect emerging Latino talent (college students) and current Latino talent (currently employed Latino Leaders).  ¡Conéctate! is a quarterly mixer featuring a panel discussion highlighting Latino leadership stories and experiences, networking, and community building to advance and retain Latino talent in the region.

Testimonial

I completed the LEADeres program last year, and as a young Hispanic professional, it was a truly unique opportunity to connect with other leaders in the community. Together, we shared our experiences, challenges, and lessons learned, and I deeply valued the safe space the program created to openly discuss what it means to be Latino in West Michigan. LEADeres has been a space to build confidence, expand my network, and strengthen the skills I need to become the best leader I can be.
