WMHCC Foundation
What is the WMHCC Foundation
The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation was established in 2017. It supports the Chamber’s mission through its initiatives: Business Development and Talent Development. Talent Development programs include Futuro Leaders and LEADeres, and our Business Development Program includes 1:1 Business coaching, Talleres Empresariales, and Start Firme 1.0, among other offerings to support the economic growth of the Latino business and professional community. Together, the Chamber and the Foundation promote economic development by fostering the next generation of new businesses and creating related employment opportunities.
Business Development
The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation has constructed a program that focuses on the advancement of local Hispanic businesses, including stores, salons, restaurants, and more. The goal of this program is to provide Hispanic business owners with the tools and knowledge in different business fields, such as food safety, financial literacy, human resources, and several other topics. While many in the Hispanic community are business owners and entrepreneurs, financial and language barriers can force their businesses to remain stagnant. Business Development programs and services aims to target these individuals and assist them with achieving a new level of financial mobility, prosperity and stability within their business.
Talent Development
The talent gap in West Michigan continues to grow with thousands of job openings remaining unfilled. The solution is to invest and grow in our local potential. Futuro Leaders and LEADeres are our education and workforce development initiative powered by the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Our mission is to help grow a dynamic and inclusive workforce in West Michigan and impact the workplace by cultivating a Latino talent pipeline. Talent Development’s goal is to prepare and connect high-potential Latinx talent with the tools and opportunities to reach their career goals while educating and encouraging businesses to invest in their communities by creating job and internship opportunities.
