Business Development

WMHCC Business Development provides support to local Latinx businesses through a full spectrum of culturally relevant programming, services, tools, and professional development opportunities designed to develop sustainable business infrastructure and practices. The needs of business owners are supported from the very start, as they conceive their business ideas, through the building of strong infrastructure and business practices, and ultimately as they develop business plans and goals to strategically grow their business. All programming and services are designed to support business owners and their employees to develop capacity and increase agency.

Business Ecosistema

The WMHCC Business Ecosistema is an online hub used for networking with partners within the WMHCC business community and for connecting the Latinx entrepreneurial community to critical and external business resources, curated specifically to meet their needs. Latinx businesses gain access to the WMHCC Business Ecosistema the first time they participate in a program or utilize a business development service but can also simply request access.

Small Business Solutions

Business Velocidad

WMHCC provides support to small business to navigate and connect to community resources, apply for grants, loans, and acquire specialized business licenses.

The WMHCC Business Development Manager/Coach works one-on-one with businesses to support their individual needs on fee-for-service basis, or when necessary, to refer them to other community and business resources.

Accounting Services & Education

Accounting Services support small business owners to develop their organization through the implementation of strong accounting practices. Businesses work one-on-one with an accountant to set up and learn the technology platforms — utilizing QuickBooks, and a variety of integrated platforms to support payroll, expenses, and accounts payable. Program participants receive subscriptions to the online platforms at reduced cost to support their business development efforts.

Initial services last 12 months. At the end of the 12 months participants have the option to continue to receive accounting services on a fee for service basis.
